1986 Imperial Jingdezhen Porcelain “Beauties of the Red Mansion” Decorative Plate

Beautiful 1986 Imperial Jingdezhen porcelain collector’s plate featuring an intricate scene inspired by The Dream of the Red Chamber (Hong Lou Meng), one of China’s most celebrated classical literary works.

The front showcases two elegantly dressed women in a richly detailed garden setting, surrounded by colorful florals, architectural elements, and a beautifully patterned border. The artwork is exceptionally vibrant, with fine linework and traditional Chinese decorative motifs.

The reverse is particularly interesting, featuring Chinese characters, the Imperial Jingdezhen Porcelain mark, 1986 date, and “China Arts & Crafts Import & Export Company” markings. The back also notes that the plate is intended as an artistic/decorative object and not for food use due to the use of precious-metal pigments.
