Elegant and highly decorative pair of Mottahedeh Blue Canton porcelain lidded ginger jars, crafted in Portugal by Vista Alegre. Each jar features the iconic Blue Canton scenic pattern in rich cobalt blue and creamy white, depicting an atmospheric Asian landscape with pagodas, mountains, trees, water, and flying birds.
The beautifully domed lids are finished with coordinating geometric and scalloped borders, creating a particularly striking silhouette. The jars are marked Mottahedeh / Vista Alegre / Portugal, HC 118 to the underside.
The pair makes a wonderful statement displayed together on a console, bookcase, dining room cabinet, or collected among blue-and-white porcelain. Their classic chinoiserie aesthetic works beautifully with traditional, French country, coastal, and eclectic interiors.
