A striking antique Wedgwood Majolica plate featuring an exceptional star-form chrysanthemum design and richly dimensional relief decoration. The center showcases a large, stylized white chrysanthemum with deep green leaves, surrounded by delicate hand-painted floral sprigs on a vibrant turquoise ground.
The six-pointed star motif is outlined in a warm ochre-gold glaze, creating a dramatic contrast against the dark green and cream geometric ground surrounding it. The intricate repeating geometric pattern gives the outer field an almost architectural quality, while the molded floral decoration adds the exuberant character for which Victorian Majolica is known.
A particularly beautiful example for collectors of Wedgwood, Victorian Majolica, antique ceramics, and decorative arts. The bold palette and sculptural relief make this equally suited for display on a wall, shelf, or as an elegant decorative accent in a collected interior.
